CAREER OVERVIEW
Insulation Workers line and cover structures or systems with insulating materials. May work with batt, roll, or blown insulation materials; Insulation Workers, Mechanical – Apply insulating materials to pipes or ductwork, or other mechanical systems in order to help control and maintain temperature.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Primary skills needed in this occupation include: select and install appropriate insulation materials; cover or seal insulated surfaces; read blueprints and technical drawings; climb ladders and scaffolding; work in confined spaces; follow safety procedures; use hand and power tools; work with hazardous materials.
