SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Welding, soldering, and brazing workers need good eyesight, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity. They should be able to concentrate on detailed work for long periods and be able to bend, stoop, and work in awkward positions. Skills necessary for this occupation include: braze and solder metal parts or components together; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position; operate metal or plastic fabricating equipment/machinery; climb ladders, towers, and scaffolding; read technical drawings; follow 
safety procedures.
